Kaberle story "pure fabrication"

Brian Burke, the GM of the Leafs says reports that Thomas Kaberle is on his way to the Bruins is "pure fabrication".

The New England Sports Network and the Boston Herald indicated the Bruins had offered their first- and third-round picks in the 2009 draft, as well as six-foot-five forward Joe Colborne, the team's top pick from last season for Kaberle.

Burke made his comments on Toronto radio station AM 640 (CFMJ).

Burke has also said if there were a deal involving Kaberle, there would be no imperative to have it done by Wednesday's NHL trade deadline, and he reiterated that stance to the Toronto station on Monday, claiming there would be drastic makeover of the club.

He said the team will make a decision on forward Dominic Moore late Monday night. The Leafs are negotiating on a new deal with Moore, but could potentially move the unrestricted free agent if the sides are far apart.

Burke said there had been no discussions involving Florida's Jay Bouwmeester or Anaheim's Chris Pronger.
