Kaberle on the move?

A report out of Boston has the Bruins interested in trading for Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Tomas Kaberle.

According to New England Sports Network and the Boston Herald, the Bruins have offered their first- and third-round picks in the draft, as well as six-foot-five forward Joe Colborne, the team's top pick from last season.

Kaberle, who turns 31 on Monday, returned to the lineup on the weekend after missing a month with a broken bone in his hand.

The Czech Republic native is coveted for his puck-moving abilities and a contract that is reasonable by league standards.

Kaberle has played all 731 career NHL games with Toronto, recording 73 goals and 360 assists. He is scheduled to earn $4.25 million US in each of the next two seasons.

Maple Leafs general manager Brian Burke has stated publicly that it will take a very considerable offer to move Kaberle, a player he said he likes.

"The minimum would be this: a minimum of a first-round pick, a guy that can play on our team right now and a top prospect," Burke said earlier this week of the desired haul for Kaberle.

Colborne, 19, is a freshman at Denver University. The Calgary native has 28 points in 34 games.
