The Detroit Pistons say forward Tayshaun Prince will be out of the lineup indefinitely due to a small rupture of a disc in his lower back.

The team said Saturday the injury was confirmed following an MRI exam and evaluation by team doctors this week. Prince will continue to receive treatment for the injury.

The six-foot-nine Prince has appeared in only three games this season averaging 12.3 points, five rebounds and 2.3 assists.

When Prince missed Tuesday's game against the Orlando Magic, he ended his streak of consecutive games played at 496.
