The Toronto Raptors confirmed Thursday that they have signed first-round draft pick DeMar DeRozan.

DeRozan, 19, is contractually committed to the Raptors for the next two seasons, with team options for 2011-12 and 2012-13.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Toronto drafted him ninth overall out of the University of Southern California on June 25.

DeRozan averaged 13.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists a game for the Trojans last season, and was chosen the most valuable player of the Pac-10 Tournament — as a freshman.

The teenager entered the NBA draft early to help support his mother, who is struggling with lupus.
