The Philadelphia 76ers sent star guard Allen Iverson home Friday and ruled him out of the NBA team's next two games.

The official party line is that Iverson is out with back spasms but according to the New York Post, the enigmatic guard has asked for a trade.

Sixers president Billy King did not confirm that Iverson asked for the trade before the team's game against the Washington Wizards.

Iverson leads the NBA in scoring, averaging 31.7 points per game, but his off-court antics have grown tiresome to the Sixers.

Last in the Atlantic Division, Philadelphia (5-12) travels to Orlando to face the Magic on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.
