The Toronto Raptors have signed big man Pops Mensah-Bonsu for the remainder of the season.

Mensah-Bonsu is expected to be in the lineup Friday night when the Raptors host the Miami Heat.

The six-foot-10 forward-centre was just released from a 10-day contract with San Antonio. In three games with the Spurs, the 25-year-old averaged 5.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 6.7 minutes.

Mensah-Bonsu played in 12 games with the Denver Nuggets in 2006-07 season, averaging 2.4 points, 1.8 rebounds and 5.9 minutes.

Toronto (23-39) was in need of a big man after trading centre Jermaine O'Neal to Miami on Feb. 13 and sending rookie centre Nathan Jawai to the Idaho Stampede of the NBA Developmental League on Feb. 26.
