Pistons' Milicic has hand surgery
Detroit Pistons rookie Darko Milicic underwent surgery to repair a broken hand suffered during Game 5 of the NBA Finals.
Milicic, who appeared in the final minutes during Tuesday's blowout, broke his hand and is expected to miss eight weeks.
Detroit won the game 100-87 and defeated the LA Lakers in five games to win their third NBA title.
The injury hampers Milicic's chances of playing for his native Serbia in the upcoming Athens Summer Olympics.
Milicic decided not to play for Detroit's summer-league team to focus on the Olympics.
Milicic, 19, was seldom used this season and scored only 1.4 points per game.
The second pick in last year's NBA Draft also missed Thursday's victory parade.
