Los Angeles coach Mike Brown was suspended Monday for one game without pay and fined $25,000 for making contact with a game official and failure to leave the court in a timely manner following his ejection in Saturday's game.

The NBA announced the suspension Monday. Brown will miss Monday's game in Philadelphia against the 76ers.

The incident occurred with 8:41 remaining in the fourth quarter of the Lakers' 96-87 loss to the Utah Jazz.

Brown received two quick technicals for arguing Pau Gasol was ouled by Utah's Earl Watson.

Meanwhile, Kevin Love of the Minnesota Timberwolves was suspended for two games without pay for driving his foot into the foot and upper body of Houston Rockets forward Luis Scola in the Timberwolves' 100-91 home victory against the Rockets. The two had had an incident in a game last Monday, when a Scola pass hit Love in the groin.

Love said his stomp was unintentional and he apologized to Scola after the game. Scola said he did not know if it were intentional or not.

Love, who leads the Timberwolves with averages of 25.0 points and 13.7 rebounds a game, will miss Tuesday's home game against the Sacramento Kings and Wednesday's game at the Memphis Grizzlies.

The NBA also upgraded Love's stomp to a Flagrant Two foul.
