The Toronto Raptors confirmed Monday that they acquired guard Lou Williams and the draft rights to Brazilian prospect Lucas Nogueira from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for forward John Salmons and a second-round draft pick in 2015. 

Williams, averaged 10.4 points, 3.5 assists and 24.1 minutes in 60 appearances last season for Atlanta, which signed him as a free agent on July 12, 2012.

The nine-year pro has averaged 11.4 points, 3.1 assists and 22.6 minutes in 554 NBA appearances, including 54 starts.

Nogueira, a seven-foot centre from Brazil, was selected 16th overall by the Boston Celtics in the 2013 draft, only to have his draft rights dealt to the Dallas Mavericks and later the Hawks.  

The native of Sao Goncalo, Brazil, has played in Spain since 2009 with Asefa Estudiantes of the Liga ACB. The native of 

Nogueira averaged 6.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.6 blocked shot and 16.0 minutes in 18 games this past season, scoring in double digits on 10 occasions. 

Salmons, who arrived in Toronto in a seven-player trade with the Sacramento Kings last Dec. 9, averaged 5.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 21.3 minutes in 60 games with the Raptors.
