Williams (stomach virus) missed Wednesday's game for Utah.
The team announced the injury Tuesday after Williams was treated by team orthopedist Dr. Lyle Mason. Williams will travel with the team on its three-game road trip, but won't be able to play against former team Atlanta on Friday. He left Monday's win over Dallas because of the injury and did not return.
Williams recorded his first double-double. Don't expect too many more.
Williams suffered the injury against New Orleans on Nov. 28. Williams is averaging 10.4 points and 3.8 rebounds this season. He has started 14 of Utah's first 16 games.
It was Williams' highest scoring output since the season opener. He returned to the starting lineup after coming off the bench in the previous two games.
A change of scenery could help Williams out after he really didn't produce in Atlanta.
Williams averaged 11.5 points and 5.3 rebounds during his seven seasons in Atlanta.
