Outfielder Reed Johnson has agreed to a one-year, $800,000 US contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Johnson spent the last two seasons with the Chicago Cubs after beginning his major-league career with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2003.

He hit .255 in 65 games with four homers and 22 runs batted in for the Cubs last season.

He has batted .282 in 784 major-league games with 52 HRs and 306 RBIs while playing extensively at all three outfield positions.

Johnson is a native of Riverside, Calif., and played at Cal State Fullerton.
