Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Troy Glaus underwent successful surgery Monday on his left foot.
Also, first baseman Lyle Overbay is scheduling a second surgery on his ailing right hand, and pitcher Scott Downs is awaiting results of an MRI on his painful right foot.

Glaus, 31, had surgery in Los Angeles to ease pressure on a nerve under the arch of his foot, where it connects to the ankle.
The procedure was performed by specialist Dr. Phillip Quong, who examined him in late August.
"From what I understand, the nerve was really restricted," Blue Jays general manager J.P. Ricciardi said. "They opened it up, and now it's freed up.
"It relieves the pain, relieves the pressure. The doctor is really confident he will be ready for spring training."
Glaus has been hobbled all season by foot problems, notably a painful heel condition called plantar fasciitis that landed him on the disabled list in April.
The four-time all-star hit .262 with 20 home runs, 62 runs batted in and 60 runs scored in 115 games for Toronto this season.
"He said everything looks good and he should be ready for spring training," Ricciardi said.
Screws removed
Overbay, 30, is still having trouble with the right hand that was fractured when he was hit by a pitch in the third inning of a 4-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox on June 3.
He is hitting just .229 since being activated July 12.
Overbay will have four screw pins removed from the hand next week when the Blue Jays visit Baltimore, where Dr. Thomas Graham performed the initial operation.
"We can still pinch hit him and play him defensively," Ricciardi said. "[But] once we go to Baltimore, he is pretty much done for the year."
Overbay is averaging .242 with 11 HRs, 44 RBIs and 29 runs in 116 games this season, his second for the Blue Jays.
Downs, 31, is suffering from what doctors suspect is gout in his right foot.
The left-handed reliever has made a career-high 74 appearances this season, posting a 3-2 mark with a 2.30 earned-run average and two blown saves in 54 2/3 innings pitched.
