The Toronto Blue Jays inked journeyman pitcher Joe Kennedy to a minor-league contract on Tuesday.
Kennedy, 28, was assigned to the triple-A Syracuse SkyChiefs, but could be promoted when major-league rosters expand on Sept. 1.

The veteran left-hander posted a 3-9 record with a 4.37 earned-run average in 27 appearances (16 starts) for the Oakland A's, only to be picked up on waivers by the Arizona Diamondbacks on Aug. 4.
He pitched three times for Arizona — all in relief — before being designated for assignment on Aug. 15.
Kennedy is 42-61 lifetime with a 4.79 ERA, seven complete games and two saves in 213 appearances (139 starts) over seven MLB seasons for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Colorado Rockies, Athletics and Diamondbacks.
