Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Troy Glaus will miss the weekend home series against the Cleveland Indians but should be back when play resumes after the all-star break, the club announced on Thursday.

Glaus fouled a ball off his left ankle in Wednesday afternoon's 10-3 win in Oakland and left the game.

Glaus was re-examined in Toronto on Thursday and general manager J.P. Ricciardi said X-rays didn't show any serious problems, although swelling in the area made it difficult to be sure.

"It doesn't look like it's going to be a major problem," Ricciardi said. "He's going to be off for the weekend and he should be ready go after the break."

Glaus has hit 11 home runs and has 36 RBIs in 63 games, with a .277 batting average. He has also battled bone spurs in his left heel this season, his second with the Blue Jays.

The 30-year-old is 7-for-34 in his last 10 games.

The Blue Jays (41-43) are also hoping to get left-fielder Reed Johnson (back) and first baseman Lyle Overbay (right hand) back in the lineup soon after the all-star game, in which Blue Jay Alex Rios is to play.

Roy Halladay (9-3) will take the mound Friday night at Rogers Centre against Cleveland, the American League Central leaders.
