Oft-injured Tampa Bay Devil Rays outfielder Rocco Baldelli will miss a few games with a sore left hamstring.
Manager Joe Maddon described the injury as a "moderate" strain after Baldelli underwent a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exam Thursday and was placed on the 15-day disabled list.
"We're not sure what that means as far as how long he'll be out," Maddon said.
Baldelli, 25, missed one game earlier in the season because of a hamstring problem and was relegated to designated hitter duties for the first two weeks of the campaign after straining his right hamstring during spring training.
Baldelli has struggled recently, going 1-for-40 and watching his batting average plunge to .204.
Outfielder Greg Norton was activated from the DL for Thursday night's series finale against the Texas Rangers.
Norton, who hit .296 with 17 home runs in 98 games last season, had been sidelined since injuring his right knee late in spring training and undergoing surgery April 2.
He appeared in seven games and batted .280 with two doubles and four RBI's during a rehabilitation assignment at double-A Montgomery.
