Mark Hendrickson reaches terms with Dodgers

Pitcher Mark Hendrickson avoided arbitration Monday by reaching terms on a one-year, $2.925-million US contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Hendrickson, 32, made $1.95 million US last season, which he split between the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and Dodgers.

Los Angeles acquired him last June 27 for catcher Dioner Navarro and pitcher Jae Seo.
Hendrickson finished with a combined 6-15 record with a 4.21 earned-run average and a complete-game shutout in 31 appearances for Tampa Bay and Los Angeles, including 25 starts.
The left-hander went 2-7 with a 4.68 ERA in 18 appearances (12 starts) for the Dodgers.
Hendrickson is 39-47 lifetime with a 4.97 ERA, five complete games and two shutouts in 140 MLB appearances (120 starts) since making his major-league debut with the Toronto Blue Jays on Aug. 6, 2002.
The former NBA player is expected to compete for a role in middle relief or as a starter in a Dodgers rotation boasting Jason Schmidt, Randy Wolf, Derek Lowe, Brad Penny and Chad Billingsley.
