Peralta gave up five runs on eight hits in five innings, walked four and struck out two, losing for the fifth time in his last six starts. His 6.16 ERA is baseball's third-worst and it is hard to see how he is still in the big leagues.
Peralta (4-6, 5.94 ERA) entered on a four-game losing streak but had one of his best outings of the season, surrendering two runs and eight hits with six strikeouts and a walk. The win was his first since May 7.
The right-hander, who turns 24 on Wednesday, struck out two and did not walk a batter. This was an early birthday gift for fantasy owners.
