The Toronto Blue Jays recalled pitcher David Bush from the triple-A Buffalo Bisons on Saturday and designated fellow right-hander Jeremy Jeffress for assignment.
The 25-year-old Jeffress had a rough outing in his only appearance with Toronto in the young 2013 season, giving up a home run and two walks in one inning of work in Friday's 6-4 loss to the Boston Red Sox.
Bush, meanwhile, returns to the Blue Jays after spending 2002-2005 with organization.
The 33-year-old, who signed a minor-league deal with Toronto in the off-season, has a 56-69 record with a 4.70 earned-run average in 210 career games (187 starts) with the Blue Jays, Milwaukee Brewers and Texas Rangers.
In seven spring training appearances in 2013, including one start, Bush posted a 3-1 record with a 6.23 ERA.
