Athletes sing, play hockey and tweet on Christmas

From Shaquille O'Neal, and Wayne Rooney to R.A. Dickey and the Subban family, athletes in every sport from across North America and Europe took to Twitter on Wednesday to spread holiday cheer. Whether through song, photo or text, the wishes were widespread and hilarious.

Hundreds of athletes from different disciplines took to Twitter Wednesday to wish fans a Merry Christmas and show off their holiday spirit. That list included star golfer Rory McIlroy, who tweeted: "Rudolph and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!!!" (Rory McIlroy/Twitter)
