Olympic gold medallist and World Cup champion Maelle Ricker capped off a brilliant snowboard cross season by finishing third in the final women's event Friday in La Molina Spain.
After reaching the podium for the sixth time this season, Ricker received the traditional crystal globe for winning the World Cup title, which she clinched last week.
The 31-year-old from West Vancouver earned three World Cup victories this season and added her first Olympic title at the Vancouver Games in February.
Helene Olafsen of Norway won Friday's event, with Switzerland's Simona Meiler finishing second.
"Helene was so fast and passed me," Ricker said. "It was a course where you cannot make any mistakes."
Dominique Maltais of Charlevoix, Que., was fifth. She finished third in the season standings.
Pierre Vaultier of France won the men's race, clinching the World Cup title with his fifth victory of the season.
Australia's Alex Pulling was second and American Patrick Holland third.
Tom Velisek and Rob Fagan, both of Squamish, B.C., were 16th and 17th, respectively.
Fagan wound up as the top Canadian in the World Cup men's standings, finishing sixth.
