Hayden finished in 45.75 seconds at the third stop on the FINA World Cup swimming circuit. The Vancouver native eclipsed the 46.14 mark he established in Moscow on Friday.

Hometown favourite Stefan Nystrand won the race in 45.54 seconds, with Danila Izotov of Russia third.

The result continues an impressive year for the 16-year-old Gabor, who competed at the World Aquatic Championships in Rome in the summer and won two gold at the Canada Games, the first ever for the Yukon at the competition.
