Alena Leonova of Russia won the ladies' competition Sunday in the annual Finlandia Trophy figure skating event.
Leonova, the world junior champion last season, won both the short program and the free skate, amassing 162.17 points for a clear victory.
Reigning European champion Laura Lepisto of Finland was second with 154.33 points, moving up from sixth after the short program.
Kiira Korpi of Finland was third (152.84 points), ahead of newcomer Myriane Samson of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que.
Japan's Fumie Suguri, the 2006 world silver medallist, was seventh after botching two triple lutzes.
Daisuke Takahashi of Japan continues to impress in his comeback, winning the men's event Saturday. The 2007 world silver medallist missed all of last season with a knee injury, and is hoping to win a spot at the Vancouver Olympics on what will be a highly competitive Japanese men's team.
Sergei Voronov of Russia edged Takahashi by 0.7 points in the free skate, but was unable to overcome Takahashi's commanding lead in the short program. Takahashi finished with 224.25 points, more than 14 ahead of Voronin. Steven Carriere of the United States was third.
The ice dance favourites, European bronze medallists Sinead and John Kerr of Britain easily claimed the title, finishing almost 15 points ahead of Anastasia Platonova and Alexander Grachev of Russia.
