Canadian sliders Melissa Hollingsworth and Michelle Kelly finished second and third in a World Cup women's skeleton race in St. Moritz, Switzerland on Friday.
Hollingsworth, the 2006 Olympic bronze medallist from Eckville, Alta., posted a two-run time of two minutes 20.59 seconds to win the silver medal, while Kelly, of Fort St. John, B.C., claimed the bronze in 2:21.68.
Great Britain's Shelley Rudman, the 2006 Olympic silver medallist, took the gold in 2:20.50.
Rudman earned her second victory of the season even though she broke her finger in training.
Hollingsworth led after the first heat, but Rudman posted a seasonal track record of 1:09.97 during her second run to leapfrog over the Canadian and win the race.
"I slid well but made some mistakes twice that cost me so I am a little frustrated,' said Hollingsworth.
"I think the positive is that we have two Canadians on the podium this week, we got an Olympic qualifier and now maybe we can carry this momentum back home to Whistler."
The World Cup women's skeleton circuit continues Feb. 5 in Whistler, B.C., with a test event for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
Rudman leads the World Cup with 972 points, followed by Germany's Anja Huber (931), Marion Trott (912), Katie Uhlaender of the United States (880) and Amy Williams of Great Britain (824).
Huber, who led the World Cup entering the race, finished 13th in Friday's race.
