Perdita Felicien's preparations for the 2008 Beijing Olympics have hit a hurdle.
The 27-year-old hurdler from Pickering, Ont., twisted her foot coming off a hurdle while preparing for a meet last weekend in Birmingham, England, and has had to put the brakes on her plans to race in the world indoor track championships in March.

She bruised the tissue in her left foot and has been advised not to run on it for a few weeks, though she will continue with other training.
"It's nothing serious," said her coach Gary Winckler on Tuesday. "All of the MRIs showed there was no other damage. It's just one of those things."
Prior to last weekend, Felicien was enjoying her longest stretch of good health since suffering a nasty heel injury on the first hurdle at the 2004 Athens Games.
