Vancouver Olympic organizers say planning for the 2010 Games remains on track and on budget, and they've even saved a little cash.
In its latest quarterly report released Tuesday, the Vancouver Olympic Organizing Committee, known as VANOC, says it was able to put a quarter of a million dollars back into a rainy-day fund for venue construction for the 2010 Games after one facility didn't cost as much as expected.
The committee came under fire for having to withdraw a chunk of money from the fund earlier this year.
Sponsorship money flowing into VANOC coffers also means the committee is 90 per cent of the way towards its target of raising $760 million.
VANOC CEO John Furlong says the year ahead will bring more big things for Olympic planning, now that five major sports venues have been completed.
The Olympic mascots and plans for ticket pricing were also unveiled earlier this year.
