Canada's Olympic family just got a little bigger.

The girl was born at Banff's Mineral Springs Hospital and weighed in at seven pounds, two ounces. Aria is the first child for Renner and Grandi, Canada's first family of skiing.

While Renner is at home resting with Aria, Grandi is in Are, Sweden, for the 2007 world alpine skiing championships.

The four-time Olympian will compete in the giant slalom on Feb. 14, the slalom on Feb. 17 and the team event on Feb. 18.

Renner took this season off competitive skiing with plans to resume her career in 2007-08, with sights set on racing in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

Renner captured four World Cup medals last season and raced to silver in the team event at the 2006 Torino Games with teammate Beckie Scott.
