"I did it, I made it to the top of the podium," said Jean, from Lachenaie, Que. "I wanted to win, of course. I stayed away at first, waiting for my chance. There was a lot of action in front of me and as soon as I saw the fall, I took advantage of it to make my way to the front."

Roberge was the only Canadian in women's 500-metre final.

"I'm really happy with my performance in the 500m," said Roberge, from Ste-Etienne-de-Lauzon, Que. "This gives me confidence. I know I only have [Meng] Wang and [Evgenia] Radanova to beat in the future [consistently]."

Sun-Yu Jin, Eun-Ju Jung and Chun-Sa Byun led South Korea to a sweep of the podium in the women's 1,500 metres. No Canadians competed in the final.

In the men's 1,500 metres, Marc-Andre Monette of Pointe-aux-Trembles, Que., was fifth. Kyung-Taek Song, Hyun-Soo Ahn and Hyun-Kon Kim led South Korea to another 1-2-3 sweep.

Canada finished with six medals this weekend in Montreal. Charles Hamelin of Ste-Julie, Que., won gold in the men's 1,000-metre race Saturday.

Last weekend in Saguenay, Que., Canada took home nine medals.

The World Cup circuit now takes a break and the last two stops of the season will be in February.
