One of the NHL's biggest superstars is spending part of his off-season as an amateur photographer/social media maven at the London Olympics.
One of the NHL's biggest superstars is spending part of his off-season as an amateur photographer/social media maven at the London Olympics.

Alex Ovechkin, he of many viral marketing campaigns, is busy tweeting his way around the Olympic venues. His star-power may not be the only thing granting him exclusive access to shots like these:

Ovechkin (whose Twitter handle is @Ovi8)  is also in a relationship with Russian tennis player Maria Kirilenko, who is representing her country in women's doubles with partner Nadia Petrova.

Maybe Ovie's Twitter tour of the Summer Olympics is merely a precursor to him actually landing a spot on Russia's squad in 2016 in Rio. It seems he's been busy practicing his floor routine in this rap video:
