Kings goalie Jonathan Quick foiled "about a dozen great scoring chances," in Game 5 by the count of L.A. head coach Terry Murray, his defence forced the Sharks to take a large percentage of bad-angle and perimeter shots and cleared what rebounds Quick left for them in what can only be termed a classic Terry Murray-style game.

Kings trying to mix things up

As revealed Friday, the Kings put their lines in a hat and rejiggered three of them in hopes, desperate though they seem, of reorienting a series that looks like it has run away from them.

The final tweak was completed this morning when Dustin Penner and Jarret Stoll were moved to the fourth line with Kevin Westgarth, and Alexei Ponikarovsky was scratched by head coach Terry Murray. Ponikarovsky's replacement is Scott Parse, who play left wing on the top line with Justin Williams on the right and Michal Handzus in the middle.

The Miracle on Manchester was a long time ago, five years before Devin Setoguchi was even a glint in his father's eye, so he could be forgiven for not knowing anything about that seminal event in Los Angeles Kings history 29 years ago, even though he has now evened it out with the winning goal in what will be known as either the Stunner at Staples (for Sharks fans) or the Fiasco on Figueroa (for Kings faithful).
