Beginning of Story Content

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman joins host Rob Pizzo and Elliotte Friedman in studio on Hockey Night in Canada Radio to be broadcast from 3-5 p.m. ET on Sirius 207 and XM 92.

Now that the whole Breaking Bad fad is officially over, you can finally turn your attention to Season 7, Episode 1 of Hockey Night in Canada Radio!

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman joins myself and co-host Elliotte Friedman in studio on today's show, to be broadcast from 3-5 p.m. ET on Sirius 207 and XM 92.

Between realignment, rule changes and the 2014 Sochi Olympics, I'm pretty sure Mr. Bettman will have plenty to say.

Today's guest list also includes NHL senior vice-president of player safety and hockey operations (and Hall of Famer) Brendan Shanahan.

It wasn't much of a "pre-season" for Shanahan as he had to hit the ground running with some players bending -- and flat out breaking -- the rules.

Also, New York Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault joins us to chat about what he can look forward to in his first season in the Big Apple.

We'll also speak with Chicago Blackhawks assistant general manager Norm Maciver and the one and only Glenn Healy, who I'm sure will have a few shots for Friedman and myself.

Yes, the 2013-14 NHL season is upon us and I, for one, cannot wait to get started. It feels great to kick off a new season without using words like "lockout" or "make-whole." We have 82 games ahead of us and it all starts Tuesday on Hockey Night in Canada (CBC, CBCSports.ca, 7 p.m. ET).

And what better way to prepare for the season than the return of Hockey Night Radio?

Be sure to tune in and get involved by sending questions to me on Twitter @robpizzo.
