The hats rained down from the stands on Friday night, as No. 87 negotiated his way around the head garments on his way to celebrate with teammates at the Pittsburgh Penguins bench.
Captain Sidney Crosby had just scored his third goal of the game, and the Pittsburgh crowd was more than willing to offer its appreciation.
The Cole Harbour, N.S. native's first goal came after he took a pass in stride in the first period, and eluded a few Senators to open the scoring by beating Ottawa goalie Craig Anderson five-hole. He decided he wasn't done there, though.
His second goal came at 16:07 of the first when he surprised Anderson from a bad angle. At 1:15 of the second period, he showed off his shooting prowess by blasting a slap shot over Anderson's shoulder.
