The 2013 lockout shortened NHL season is down to its final 22 days and in for a wild conclusion.
Twenty-seven of the 30 teams still have a realistic chance at the playoffs, and there could be a team out there like the Los Angeles Kings of a year ago. The Stanley Cup champs needed a 9-2-3 to move from 11th to the eighth and final playoff spot in the West.
If you crunch the numbers, it appears at this point, 51 points will be needed to finish eighth in the East, 54 for the West.
The Calgary Flames and St. Louis Blues were the last two clubs to hit the third-quarter mark of 36 games on Friday. The Pittsburgh Penguins, Edmonton Oilers, Montreal Canadiens and Columbus Blue Jackets enjoyed the best third-quarter 12-game segments.
Below are each team's record after 36 games and the third-quarter records, too.
