Phil Kessel's long-awaited first goal of the season lifted the Toronto Maple Leafs past the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday.
Just as the hockey world found its new go-to punch line in Phil Kessel's scoring drought, the Toronto Maple Leafs sniper stole the show in Winnipeg with his first goal of the season Thursday night.

Kessel's wrister late in the third period beat Jets goalie Ondrej Pavelec high to the glove side, which eventually gave the Leafs their second straight 3-2 victory.

It took 46 shots and 11 games for the slumping winger to find the back of the net and notch his 100th marker in a Maple Leafs uniform.

Is this the start of something good for Kessel? Check out the goal and tell us what you think in the comments section below.
