It appeared the Toronto Maple Leafs were headed to overtime in Ottawa Saturday night until Senators forward Colin Greening played hero in the game's final 23.4 seconds.
It appeared the Toronto Maple Leafs were headed to overtime in Ottawa Saturday night until Senators forward Colin Greening played hero in the game's final 23.4 seconds.

That's when Greening fought off Leafs defenceman Carl Gunnarsson and swatted the puck out of mid-air into the open net, lifting Ottawa to a 3-2 win over its hated rivals.

Some may single out Toronto goalie Ben Scrivens for his part. It was Scrivens who elected to hold on to the puck and force a faceoff rather the play the puck toward the open space.

That's the beauty of second guessing. Hindsight, after all, is 20-20.
