Ales Hemsky dangled and deked his way into 'goal of the year' consideration Saturday night.

The Edmonton Oilers' leading scorer beat Colorado Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov with a sensational move late in the second period.

Hemsky picked up a nifty backhand pass by veteran teammate Ryan Smyth and danced his way between Avs defencemen Tyson Barrie and Shane O'Brien.

Then the Czech winger put the puck past Varlamov and soared over his left pad before celebrating his seventh goal of the season and second of the game.

What did you think of Hemsky's highlight reel manoeuvre? Is it enough to hold up as goal of the year?
