CBCSports.ca user racecar believes that the mouthpieces of the NHL and players' association may be the ones holding a deal back, and if an agreement can't be found without them in the room, it's time to scrap the season.
After the latest mediation session, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman proposed that leadership from both sides step aside for the next bargaining session and let a group of owners and players work out an agreement.

And CBCSports.ca user racecar believes that the mouthpieces of the NHL and players' association may be the ones holding a deal back, saying that if an agreement can't be found without Bettman and Donald Fehr in the room, it's time to scrap the season:

"Get the owners and the players in a room together with the mediators. Let the two most interested parties work through it without Messrs Bettman, Daly, Fehr and Fehr. If that meeting proves fruitless, cancel the entire season immediately."

What do you think - should the leaders step out of the way and let the owners and players look for common ground?
