What could you buy for $1 billion US? How about a team that hasn't won a Stanley Cup since 1967 and isn't playing hockey right now.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are the most valuable franchise in the NHL this year with a $1 billion valuation according to a report released by Forbes Magazine.
The news generated a lot of reaction from our CBCSports.ca users.
First up is SidArthur, who points out that winning and profitability are mutually exclusive:
"It's a business and the Leafs don't have to win to be successful -- so they don't."
Next up is StopDrop'n'Roll, who takes a humourous look at the Leafs' hefty evaluation:
"That's because they haven't lost a game all season!"
