Hansen is expected to be OK after it appeared he collapsed on the bench Saturday night after taking a hit during Vancouver's game against the Calgary Flames. "I think everything's good," Canucks coach Willie Desjardins said following his team's 3-2 victory in overtime. "He was at the hospital. Everything's checking out, though, and I don't think there's going to a problem. Everything looks real good."
Flames defenseman Dennis Wideman hit Hansen in the corner of the Calgary zone at 1:27 of the second period, lowering his shoulder to deliver a body check. Hansen skated to the bench under his own power, but appeared to be winded. He then appeared to collapse moments later while on the bench. His teammates shouted out for medical attention. Vancouver's team doctor rushed to the bench to attend to Hansen, who then walked down the tunnel toward the dressing room on his own.
