The Minnesota Wild have assigned goalie Josh Harding to their AHL affiliate, the Iowa Wild. The move was made Tuesday after Harding cleared waivers. With Darcy Kuemper and Niklas Backstrom the top two goalies, there's no room on the Wild roster for now.
The 30-year-old was taken off injured reserve Monday. He hasn't skated with the Wild this season. Harding broke his right foot in an incident off the ice a few days before training camp and was put on a suspended list. His last appearance in a game was Dec. 31. Illness related to his multiple sclerosis kept him out of action the rest of the way. Harding finished 18-7-3 with three shutouts in 29 games and led the NHL with a 1.65 goals-against average.
