London, Ont., will welcome the world this week for the 2013 World Figure
Skating Championships and I'm thrilled to tell you that I'll be there to
cover all the behind-the-scenes action.
Coverage will be extensive on
CBC, cbcsports.ca and bold starting Tuesday, March 12 at 9 p.m. ET (9:30
p.m. NT) and continuing daily until March 17th.
I'll be spending
tons of time with the social media maven of the figure skating world,
the wonderful Pj Kwong! We hope to bring you closer to the athletes, the
venue and the action than you've ever been before using social media.
You'll
find a mix of updates, photos and videos in our live blog on
cbcsports.ca. Starting Monday, we'll show you what's happening as fans
and athletes start to arrive and prepare for the action in London, Ont.
As
the competition gets going on Wednesday, we will be chatting live
during the events on cbcsports.ca. You won't miss a moment whether it's
on the ice or in the stands. We hope to be your eyes and ears on the
ground in London and if you want to see something specific, just let us
know.
Be sure to connect with us on Twitter @MonikaPlatek and
@skatingpj and get involved in the conversation by using #CBCSkate. I
already know that skating fans around the world will be tweeting about
all the dazzling moments as they happen.
You'll also want to follow
Scott Russell (@SportsWkndScott) who will be hosting daily with Brenda
Irving (@SportsWkndBrend). For all the play-by-play action be sure to
connect with four-time World Champion Kurt Browning (@KurtBrowning) and
Olympic bronze medalist Tracy Wilson who will be providing analysis
throughout the competition.
You'll see our photo albums grow on
Facebook (Facebook.com/CBCSports) throughout the week and if you're in
London, Ont. for the Championships, share your photos and updates with
us!
