Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada is, hands down, one of my favourite days of the year, and I know I share that sentiment with many Canadians. I've witnessed countless tweets as they've rolled in from across the country @CBChockeyday and I've seen people post their favourite memories on our Facebook page. There's something special about setting one day aside to celebrate the game and I invite you to join our celebration, no matter where you'll be watching from this weekend.
I'll be in Peterborough, Ont., from Thursday to Sunday and I hope to bring you as many updates, photos and videos as I possibly can. Count on me to take you behind the scenes as our team puts on a great party in Peterborough. We'll be touring with the Stanley Cup, attending school visits, on-ice clinics and hanging out with the Hockey Night in Canada team and NHL alumni. We'll even be hosting a tweet-up on Saturday where we're inviting hockey fans in Peterborough to meet up with us for a chance to win great prizes. We'll be tweeting all of the details soon so make sure you're following @CBCHockeyDay.
Even if you can't join is in person, you'll be a part of our celebration by connecting with us online. There are more ways than ever to share your love for the game. We'll be tweeting all weekend long @CBCHockeyDay with the hashtag #hockeyday. This year's theme for Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada is "heart" so share your thoughts on what that means to you.
You'll get many perspectives as we share the best photos on our Hockey Night in CanadaFacebook page and Instagram account @hockeynight. You can follow the highlights from the conversation in our Live Blog.
We're looking for you to show us how you're enjoying Scotiabank's Hockey Day in Canada by sharing your Snapshots. You can email your photos to email@example.com, tweet them @CBCHockeyDay or post them on Facebook. Andi Petrillo will be looking out for your snapshots and shaing the best ones on the Chevrolet iDesk on Saturday.
