Westbrook will miss the first 4-6 weeks of the NBA season after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Tuesday.

12:31 ET

Impact: General Manager Sam Presti said Westbrook had knee swelling that would not subside, and the procedure was intended to solve the problem once and for all. He said doctors found that the source of swelling was due to a loose stitch and Westbrook's meniscus has healed properly. Russell had surgery in May to repair cartilage in his right knee after he was hurt in Game 2 of Oklahoma City's first-round playoff series with Houston.

Williams has reported to Minnesota Timberwolves training camp with more than just playing time to earn.

5:38 ET

Impact: Some fans turned on him as well, so Love threw himself into a rigorous training regimen this summer and comes back with something to prove. Love showed up with a chiseled frame and ready to reclaim his spot as the league's best power forward.

12:27 ET

Impact: Sacramento hasn't had a winning season since 2006, but the new Kings management is comfortable investing in a player considered one of the NBA's best young big men but who also has drawn multiple suspensions from both the team and the league for his behavior.
