The team announced Tuesday that Beal felt sore and had an MRI, which diagnosed the problem in his proximal right fibula. In the spring, a stress injury to his distal right fibula caused the 6-foot-5, 203-pound Beal to miss the final eight games of his rookie season. Beal leads the NBA in minutes per game, averaging 40.2. He is also averaging 20.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists.
He's scored 25 or more in four of six. He's averaging 24.0 points in that span and is shooting 51.6 percent from 3-point range.
The second-year guard has three nights of 28 points or higher in nine games this year.
Beal has been hot, totaling 63 points on 24-of-43 shooting and 9 for 14 from 3-point range in his last two games.
Beal is averaging 18.4 points on the season.
