Burks was averaging 13.9 points, a career-high 4.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game this season. He has missed the past two games because of the shoulder injury, which has bothered him at times this season. Burks had previously missed two games after he hurt the shoulder against Denver on Dec. 1 and had been treating the injury with physical therapy.
Burks had totaled 19 points on 6-of-20 shooting in his previous two games.
He scored 16 points on 5-of-11 shooting in a loss to Sacramento. He's averaging 16.5 in his last four games.
Burks had 10 rebounds in a loss at Toronto on Saturday after averaging 3.3 in the first 10 games this season. He was averaging 13.5 points in his prior 11 games and had 10 or fewer in three of his previous four.
Burks was the 12th overall pick in 2011. He averaged 14.0 points and 3.3 rebounds in his third season in the league last year and is off to a nice start this season with 16.5 points on 50 percent shooting in the Jazz's first two games.
Burks, who was 5 of 6 from the free-throw line, figures to provide some decent value to owners this season.
