|2014 Regular Season|
Coach Mike Woodson says Shumpert will start on Sunday against the Chicago Bulls. He has struggled this season, averaging 6.9 points on 38 percent shooting in 52 games.
Shumpert's production was one point more than his point total over the previous six games. Don't expect him to be a regular scoring contributor for New York.
There are rumors that the Knicks will trade Shumpert so monitor the developments since he could break out in a different offensive system.
Shumpert averaged 6.8 points and 3.0 rebounds in 45 games, all starts, last season after returning from torn knee ligaments. Shumpert was the No. 17 pick in the 2011 draft and was a first-team, All-Rookie selection. He will earn about $2.6 million in the 2014-15 season.
