Green was one of the most coveted shooters on the market. And the Spurs' pursuit of free agent power forward LaMarcus Aldridge led some to believe that they would have to let Green leave for a big money deal with another team. But after agreeing to a max contract extension with Kawhi Leonard, the Spurs locked down Green, who is also one of the best perimeter defenders in the league.
The shooting guard is averaging 16.8 points while shooting 53.3 percent from beyond the arc in his last five games.
Green hit 5 of 10 3-point attempts to reach the 20-point mark for the first time since Jan. 9.
He now has two double-doubles this season and is averaging 12.7 points this season.
Green also had seven rebounds and five blocks in an amazing all-around performance. He had totaled 17 points and three 3s in his previous two games.
Green has really found his stroke from deep lately, going 23 for 43 over his last seven games. He started the season a more mediocre 20 of 59.
Green is 19 for 36 from 3-point range over his last six games after starting the season 10 for 36 (27.8 percent).
