Collison told the Sacramento Bee that he's ready to play Thursday in Memphis after sitting out a 106-98 loss in Dallas on Tuesday.

The Sacramento Kings guard, who had an ailing shoulder, did return in a 111-110 loss to the Grizzlies. He had 20 points and five assists in 37-plus minutes.

A person familiar with the deal says the Sacramento Kings and Collison have agreed to a three-year contract worth about $16 million.

The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Thursday because teams can't officially sign free agents until the NBA's moratorium on deals is lifted July 10. The Los Angeles Times first reported the agreement. Collison opted out of the final year of his contract with the Clippers that would have paid him $1.9 million next season. Collison averaged 11.4 points and 3.7 assists in 25.9 minutes last season, primarily as Chris Paul's backup.
