Allen missed the last nine games of the regular season. He had four points and three steals in 25-plus minutes Sunday.
Grizzlies coach Dave Joerger announced the one-game suspension in his media availability before the game. Joerger did not elaborate on the policy Allen violated. He said it was an isolated incident, and he expects Allen and the team will move forward after the suspension.
The Memphis Grizzlies' leader with 2.0 steals per game suffered his injury in a 101-83 win over Philadelphia on Jan. 24.
Known as a defensive stopper, Allen has recorded seven or more steals three times in his career.
It's unclear how long Allen will be out.
Memphis coach Dave Joerger said center Kosta Koufos, forward Jon Leuer and guard Beno Udrih were sent back to the hotel to keep them away from their teammates. A Grizzlies spokesman said he understood that Allen and Lee had both been hospitalized to receive fluids because both were dehydrated.
The league announced the fine Tuesday. Allen struck the camera with 10:01 left in the third quarter Monday night of the Grizzlies' 93-81 win over the Pelicans in Memphis.
