Mujica is on the St. Louis Cardinals' roster for the NL division series after losing his job as closer in mid-September.

6:02 ET

Impact: Rookie Trevor Rosenthal took over for Mujica, who was among the league leaders with 37 saves but had two blown saves the final month. Mujica, who began the year as a setup man, allowed 18 hits in 7 1-3 innings in September. In his final outing, Mujica lasted one-third of an inning and gave up two runs on three hits - all for extra bases.

Uggla is being left off the Atlanta Braves' roster for the NL division series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

2:32 ET

Impact: Uggla, a three-time All-Star, has 22 homers but hit only .179 this season. He struggled with vision problems and finally was placed on the disabled list on Aug. 13 so he could have laser eye surgery. The surgery didn't appear to help. Uggla hit only .122 in 49 at-bats in September and began losing playing time to Elliot Johnson, who is expected to open the division series as the starter.

Lester will be followed in the rotation by John Lackey and Clay Buchholz, with Jake Peavy ready to pitch Game 4 of the best-of-five series if necessary.
