Manager Bo Porter did not think the injury was serious. Villar was held out May 7 in Detroit with a jammed right thumb and told the Astros' website that the bruise is in about the same place.

Villar drove in two runs and scored twice. He's hit safely in each of the last five games, going 7 for 17 with five extra-base hits.
Villar owns a .735 OPS - not bad for a light-hitting infielder.
